Parking for Commencement 2013

Parking for commencement is free and plentiful, but heavy traffic is expected. For best results, follow these guidelines:

  • Parking directions vary based on the graduation you wish to attend.
  • Anticipate severe congestion and plan your commute accordingly.
  • Allow at least 45 minutes to park.
  • Carpooling is strongly encouraged.
  • No permit or payment will be required at parking meters or in spaces marked V, S, B, or A. Permits are enforced for all other spaces, including where posted “A permit required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
  • Important: Follow the instructions of parking staff on commencement day. You may be redirected to alternative areas once a lot is full.

Revelle, Roosevelt, Sixth, and Warren colleges

From Interstate 5:

  • Traveling southbound:
    1. Exit Genesee Avenue and proceed west.
    2. Take first left at North Torrey Pines Road.
    3. Follow signs for commencement parking.
  • Traveling northbound:
    1. Exit La Jolla Village Drive and proceed west.
    2. Bear right as street curves northward, becoming North Torrey Pines Road.
    3. Follow signs for commencement parking.
  • For handicap-accessible parking, follow steps 1 and 2 above. Enter campus at Northpoint Drive and follow signs to Hopkins Parking Structure, lot P357, or lot P359.

Marshall and Muir colleges

From Interstate 5:

  • Traveling southbound:
    1. Exit Genesee Avenue and proceed east.
    2. Turn right at Campus Point Drive.
    3. Turn left at Voigt Drive.
    4. Follow signs to commencement parking.
    5. Board the free shuttle near lot P704.
  • Traveling northbound:
    1. Exit La Jolla Village Drive and proceed east.
    2. Turn left at Regents Road.
    3. Turn left at Health Sciences Drive.
    4. Follow the signs for commencement parking.
    5. Board the free shuttle near lot P704.
  • For handicap-accessible parking, follow above steps 1–3. Park in lot P704.

  • Traveling northbound:
    1. Exit La Jolla Village Drive and proceed west.
    2. Bear right as street curves northward, becoming North Torrey Pines Road.
    3. Follow signs for commencement parking.
