UC San Diego's annual Hate-Free Campus Campaign features a week of programs and activities designed to increase awareness of hate/bias, and intergroup relations on campus.

Program Goals
- Create greater awareness of bias and its impact on campus
- Educate and empower the campus community to take action to prevent and reduce bias
- Build community across diverse identities and perspectives
- Encourage alliance building and advocacy for social justice

April 23 – 27
- Out and Proud Week 2012
Library Walk and various locations
A week-long celebration and private reflection on the achievements of LGBTQI-identified students, staff, faculty, and allies. Promotes public awareness and discussion of current LGBT issues at the state and national level.

- Armenian Genocide Commemoration Week
Library Walk
Interactive displays, information, and events throughout the week to raise awareness of the mass killings of Armenians and the dangerous extents of hate.
Sponsored by Armenian Student Association, Alpha Gamma Alpha, and Alpha Epsilon Omega.
April 24-25
- Tunnel of Oppression
The Village, Building Two West
6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
An interactive event that highlights contemporary issues of oppression, privilege, and power. Participants are guided through a series of scenes that aim to educate and create awareness of oppression.

- Denim Day of Awareness
Student Center: Huerta/Vera-Cruz
Noon – 1:30 p.m.
Join us for music, poetry, crafts, and a history of sexual assault prevention at UC San Diego. Wear denim to show support for stopping sexual violence.

- Take Back the Night

An annual event dedicated to raising awareness of and protesting sexual assault and violence in our community.

- CCLOSR: Free Love for a Hate-Free Campus
Price Center West: Bear Room
Noon – 4 p.m.
Create crafts to express affiliation and gratitude for yourself and others. A hate-free campus requires love for others and ourselves.

- Victims of Hate Vigil
Silent Tree: Front of Geisel Library
7:45 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Light a candle and commemorate those who have lost their lives due to hate crimes.
