A number of institutions, professional societies, and other programs offer funding for undergraduate research projects. Use the following resources to find programs:

Check with the Financial Aid Office for undergraduate research scholarships
Check with your professors

Many professional societies also offer scholarships for undergraduate research. Check with your advisor for details.

American Physiological Society: The society provides fellowships and awards to encourage excellence in physiology education.
American Society for Microbiology: This organization offers fellowships for underrepresented students for summer research programs.

Institute for International, Comparative, and Area Studies (IICAS): The institute offers research and travel grants primarily in the social sciences and humanities.
McNair Program: This program is open to low-income, first generation college students and underrepresented minorities.
National Science Foundation: The foundation offers grants and fellowships for research in most fields of science and engineering.
Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science: Link to a list of fellowships and scholarships in a variety of fields.
Strauss Foundation: Research fields eligible for funding include health, education, law, the environment, and more.
Undergraduate Research Scholarships: These one-year awards are open to any major.
Undergraduate Scholastic (US) Grants: Applications are due by the end of Week 2 each quarter.
