Health, Recreation & Well-Being Leadership Award Program

Overview

The Health, Recreation & Well-Being Leadership Award Program provides students with the tools to review and assess their personal well-being. The program also provides students with the skills and campus resources to support their journey towards optimal wellness. Participants take part in a variety of health, wellness and leadership workshops and/or classes available throughout the year.

Participants are exposed to areas of leadership development as well as the 8 Dimensions of Wellness: Environmental, Emotional, Social, Spiritual, Physical, Intellectual, Occupational, and Financial. Exposure to each of these areas helps participants achieve a more balanced and healthy lifestyle, as well as assists them in developing desirable and marketable traits sought by employers.

Following completion of the program, participants receive a Certificate of Achievement, a UC San Diego portfolio, and a personalized letter of congratulations from Assistant Vice Chancellor of Health, Recreation & Well-being, Karen Calfas, signifying their accomplishment in becoming a well-balanced leader.
