Summer Bridge - Academic Year Services

As a Summer Bridge student, you will be provided with the following services throughout your first academic year (September to June):

Academic Transition Counselors (ATCs) are peer mentors who work closely with Summer Bridge students during the summer, and continue to meet 3-4 times each academic quarter of the first year. ATCs are a critical part of your transition to UC San Diego, serving as a resource for campus information and empowering you to explore a variety of academic, social, and personal concerns.

Students participate in an OASIS Living/ Learning Community (OLC), where you'll have the opportunity to live with other OASIS Transition Program students. You will also participate in a weekly seminar each quarter of your first year.

Tutorial workshops in language/writing and math/science

As a Summer Bridge student, you are expected to enroll in workshops each quarter that you take courses that correspond to the workshops OASIS offers in Language Arts Tutorial Services and Math and/or Science.

Our workshops have been nationally recognized and are award-winning. These workshops are designed for students that want to maximize their success in these courses. You'll be given priority in these tutorial workshops as long as you are in good standing in the program.

Quarterly events

Fun social events will be provided for Summer Bridge students each quarter as an opportunity for students and staff of the program to reconnect and network.

Summer Bridge students are expected to take a proactive approach to succeed by requesting assistance/ services prior to the beginning of each quarter.
