What I wish I had known when I was in college: As a UC San Diego student, there is so much to learn inside and outside of the classroom. I wish I had known about all the opportunities available to me in my specific college, as well as university wide. If I could take a time machine back to undergraduate years, I would study abroad or participate in a service learning trip outside of the U.S., or perhaps I could have participated in UCDC or a college exchange program. These are just a few learning opportunities I wish I had known as an undergraduate at UC San Diego.

What does being first-generation mean to me? Being first-generation means having the challenge, privilege, responsibility, and opportunity of becoming first in your family to graduate from college and potentially changing the quality of life for future generations. Once your name is called during commencement, you will be walking the stage for graduation to receive your diploma. The moment you cross the stage, you are walking for yourself, your family, and your community.

Top goals for the year: Building long-lasting mentoring relationships with all my Success Coaching Students. Successfully finishing my dissertation. To live a more consistent and healthier lifestyle physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.
