Veterans Week 2017

Veterans Day (originally "Armistice Day") has been observed in the United States since November 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. By act of congress, Veterans Day became a national holiday in 1938. Unlike Memorial Day in May, Veterans Day honors and expresses gratitude to our living veterans for their sacrifices and service to our country. UC San Diego will be observing Veterans Week on November 6 - 9, 2017 with a full week of activities, events, and information displays all over campus, ending with an administrative holiday (no classes) on Friday, November 10th.
