Who can I contact about using ROTC at UCSD?

The UCSD ROTC program is hosted through San Diego State University. 

Please work with Third Party Billing in Student Financial Solutions once you have authorization paperwork for ROTC.  

I am an active-duty service member or a reservist. How do I use the DoD Tuition Assistance program (TA) at UCSD?

Student Financial Solutions (SFS), specifically the “Third Party Payments” department, processes all Department of Defense Tuition Assistance (DoD TA)programs. Submit your authorization documents to SFS by following the directions on their website.

Your active duty or reserve unit will provide you with DoD TA authorization paperwork.

Please see the per-credit tuition costs below and note that DoD TA only covers a percentage of the per-unit cost:

Undergraduate Student Per Quarter Unit Costs

First enrolled in academic year 2025-2026: $302.00 per quarter unit

First enrolled in academic year 2024-2025: $292.00 per quarter unit

First enrolled in academic year 2023-2024: $278.00 per quarter unit

First enrolled in academic year 2022-2023: $265.00 per quarter unit

First enrolled in academic year 2021-2022 or earlier: $254.00 per quarter unit

Graduate Student Per Quarter Unit Costs

2025-2026 academic year: $365.00 per quarter unit

2024-2025 academic year: $354.00 per quarter unit

Our office can assist with DoD Tuition Assistance by reporting your grades at the end of a term, or if your courses needed to be added to your military branches’ TA web portal. Please email our office at vao@ucsd.edu as soon as you receive your final grades for each term.
