Social Login Setup Instructions

Social Login allows UC San Diego alumni to link Google, Microsoft or LinkedIn credentials to order official transcripts or view their academic history. Alternatively, alumni may opt to create a UC San Diego Guest Login account for access to this service.

The following contains instructions on how to set up and use the Social Login service provided through Cirrus Identity, a secure third-party vendor. Please note this service is distinct from the UC San Diego Alumni Online account creation process, which allows users to access alumni-only portions of the UC San Diego Alumni website.

Current UC San Diego employees should use their Business Systems credentials to order official transcripts or view academic history instead of creating a separate Social Login connection through Cirrus Identity.

How to link your academic record to your Google, Microsoft or LinkedIn  account

When you load the Social Login page for Official Transcripts or Academic History, a sign-in window will appear in your browser for the account you selected. Sign into the selected service using your personal credentials tied to the selected account.
  1. After a successful authentication with your selected service, you will see a “Link Account” page.
  2. Link your account to your chosen academic record using one of the following two options:

Login with UC San Diego ID: Note that if you choose to link your account using your UC San Diego username and password, you will be asked to perform two-step authentication using Duo. If you have not previously set up Duo, you can bypass it by selecting “Continue to site.”

I don’t know my UC San Diego login information: If you choose this option, you will be asked to answer some questions to link your account. Please note that the name you enter matches your legal name on file with the university (i.e. what appears on your diploma and transcripts), not your preferred name. If you obtained multiple degrees from UC San Diego, you need only select one college/school for the purpose of account matching. If you are having difficulty linking your account, contact the Office of the Registrar fro assistance.

  3. On the next screen, you will see your Transcript, or your Academic History, depending on which you are accessing.

  4. If you have not yet been awarded your degree, you will see the following error message: “Social Login is only available after you have been awarded your degree. Please access this service using your UC San Diego login at this time.” If you have trouble using your UC San Diego login, please review troubleshooting instructions for signing on to MyTritonLink.

Please note that you can only link one Social Login at a time with your UC San Diego account.

How to create a UC San Diego Guest Login

If you do not wish or are unable to link your Google, Microsoft or LinkedIn credentials, you may alternatively create a UC San Diego Guest Login with Cirrus Identity, which will enable you to access your Official Transcript and Academic History using a username and password of your choice. Your UC San Diego Guest Login is not associated with any third-party credentials.

  1. When you load the Social Login page for Official Transcripts or Academic History, select "UC San Diego Guest Login."
  2. Select "Create Account." This will take you to the Account Management page.
  3. On the “Register For Account” page, enter the requested information.
  4. An email will be sent to the email address that you indicated above. If the email doesn’t appear in your Inbox, check your junk mail or spam folder, just in case.
  5. Follow the steps in the email to activate your UC San Diego Guest Login.
  6. When prompted, enter a new password for your UC San Diego Guest account.
  7. You may now link your newly created UC San Diego Guest Login to your chosen academic record using one of the two following options:

Login with UC San Diego ID: Note that if you choose to link your account using your UC San Diego username and password, you will be asked to perform two-step authentication using Duo. If you have not previously set up Duo, you can bypass it by selecting “Continue to site.”
