Summer 2016 Financial Aid Online Application available May 3rd

2016-17 FINANCIAL AID DEADLINE: May 21, 2016

Access the Financial Aid Checklist for additional documents or required actions needed for completing your 2016-17 application for financial aid. Documents must be submitted by the May 21st deadline to qualify for the best financial aid awards. Funding is limited and based on availability.
  • Additional documents/actions may include verification worksheets, using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to update FAFSA information, Federal tax return transcripts, and resolving FAFSA/Cal Dream Act Application processing holds indicated on your FAFSA Student Aid Report or Cal Dream Student Aid Report.
  • To be considered for the best financial aid package, you must have filed your FAFSA or California Dream application by March 2 AND submit all missing documents and/or clear all processing holds by the May 21st deadline. Applications completed after the deadline WILL NOT be considered for University grants, Work-Study, University or Perkins Loans.

Students who are U.S. Citizens or permanent residents can complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Students who are AB540/AB2000 eligible and who are not eligible to submit a FAFSA, can submit the California Dream Act Application at www.CalDreamAct.org.

FAFSA Filers:
Important Note! If you have not created an FSA ID BEFORE you start completing your Renewal FAFSA, go to https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa/filling-out/fsaid.

A FAFSA worksheet is available to help you complete your FASFA on the web.

  • If you have not yet completed your 2015 tax return, estimate the amounts and then update your estimates once your tax returns are filed.
  • Update income tax figures using the IRS Data Retrieval tool via FAFSA on the web once your tax returns are filed.
  • If your parents are required to sign the FAFSA, they may also request a FSA ID in lieu of submitting a FAFSA signature page.
  • If you do not receive a Student Aid Report email or notice from the Department of Education processor within 7 days after you have filed your FAFSA, follow up with the processor on the receipt of your application. The processor can be reached at 1-800-4FED AID (1-800-433-3243).

California Dream Act Application Filers: A Dream Application Worksheet is available to help you complete your application.

  • If you have not yet completed your 2015 tax return, estimate the amounts and then update your estimates once your tax returns are filed.
  • If your parents are required to sign the California Dream Act Application, they may also request a PIN at https://dream.csac.ca.gov/ in lieu of submitting a California Dream Act Application signature page.

Also be aware that May 21st is the deadline to provide additional required documents or complete any required actions which may include using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (for FAFSA filers) to verify your 2015 IRS Tax information or providing IRS Transcripts to our office.
