Can I use VA Benefits for a Self-Supporting Graduate Professional Degree Program (SSGPDP)?
Yes. Federal VA Benefits such as the Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI Bill, the Chapter 35 Dependents Educational Assistance (DEA) program, Chapter 31 Veterans Readiness and Employment (VRE), Chapter 30 Montgomery GI Bill Active Duty (MGIB-AD), or Chapter 1606 Montgomery GI Bill - Selected Reserves (MGIB-SR) may be used for UC SSGPDP's.
If you are or will be using the Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI Bill or the Chapter 31 VRE benefit to fully or partially fund your SSGPDP, all tuition and registration fees on this page are eligible to be covered by the VA. Please note that the UC Student Health Insurance Plan (UC SHIP) fee may be covered by the Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI Bill, but cannot be covered by the Chapter 31 VRE program. For more information, visit the UCSD Registration Fees website.
