Majors With Pre-Major Status

You may be admitted to pre-major status if you choose certain majors.

You will need to satisfy prerequisites or meet department conditions before being admitted to the major. For details, see the department's website or listing in the General Catalog.

These majors require pre-major status for newly admitted first-year and transfer students:

Note:

• If you're a transfer student, you're encouraged to complete as many of your major-preparation courses as possible before submitting your application.
• A major requiring pre-major status is not the same as a capped major.
