English Language and ESL Resources

Find campus resources for ESL and international students, as well as for all students who use English as a second language:

  • OASIS Language and Writing Program offers free individual tutoring and workshops for English as a Second Language (ESL) Students, or students taking beginning or advanced classes in Spanish.
  • The Writing Hub offers free one-on-one consultations, workshops, writing retreats, writers' rooms, and other writing-focused academic support services to all UC San Diego undergraduate and graduate students, including students who have English as an additional language. Drop into the Geisel Library location for help, or visit WCOnline to make an appointment with one of our writing consultants.
  • English Language Institute (UC San Diego Extension) teaches English to students from beginning to advanced levels. Tuition is charged for these courses.
  • American English in Action is a free program designed for international students and spouses that provides tutoring in conversational English.
  • The Linguistics Language Laboratory in AP&M, Room 3432A (map), (858) 534-2418, has a few self-instructed courses and other material available for ESL (English as a Second Language) students.
