Student Legal Services Staff

Jon Carlos oversees our legal counseling, referrals, and education. He also conducts individual and group counseling sessions on civil, criminal, and UC San Diego policy-related matters, and serves on several campus committees charged with reviewing, revising, and implementing policies and procedures affecting students. Jon Carlos is from San Bernardino, Calif., and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2002. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in psychology (A.B., 1995), and earned his law degree from the University of Arizona's James E. Rogers College of Law (J.D., 2001).

Mary is a lifelong Californian and a graduate of UC San Diego, majoring in sociology with a minor in music (B.A., 2007, Revelle College). She attended law school locally at California Western School of Law, and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2010. Prior to joining Student Legal Services, Mary worked in private practice in San Diego as a consumer and debtor rights attorney.
