Determine class level based on earned units and learn the definition of upper division standing.
Class Level
The range of units associated with each undergraduate class level follows:
Class Level
|
Units
|
---|---|
First-Year | 0-44.9 |
Sophomore | 45-89.9 |
Junior | 90-134.9 |
Senior | 135+ |
Upper Division Standing
An undergraduate student with 90 or more cumulative units is considered to have Upper Division standing.
Some courses require students to have upper division standing as a prerequisite. A student with less than 90 units earned would need to submit an EASy request to the department for permission to enroll.
